The health and safety of staff and stakeholders is of importance to the Corporation. A health and Safety Policy is in place aimed at improving safety performance across all workplaces of the Corporation.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been the Corporation’s biggest challenge as it created uncertainty Regarding potential impacts to operations. While no deaths were recorded, the operations at the Head Office had to shut down for a period of two (2) days as 26 staff members tested positive to COVID-19. In order to curb the spread of the virus as well as protect employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders from COVID-19, the premises were disinfected while at the same time the Corporation had to shift certain operations to remote and virtual locations.

The Corporation collaborates with the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) to ensure compliance to all environmental requirements and regulations. ZEMA guides on the disposal of hazardous substances at the Pole Treatment Plant and Workshop of the Corporation.

In addition, operators and drivers in the Corporation are trained in skill driving in order to enhance safety among staff. Furthermore, the Corporation focus on strengthening fire mitigation strategies.

The Corporation is committed to maintaining a safe working environment for our employees and all other stakeholders.

Our health and safety policy is woven into our everyday operations as part of the Corporation culture.
