ZAFFICO PLANTATIONSCHATIChati

Chati Plantation is the second largest Plantation Group with a gross area of about 13,100ha and a net area of about 12,580ha. The group is found in three districts namely Kalulushi, Chingola and Lufwanyama and is located approximately 40km from Kalulushi town and 10km from Lufwanyama district.

Chati has the largest stock of Eucalyptus among ZAFFICO plantation groups. Of the 12,580ha, a total of 4,360.6ha are young stands between the ages of one year to 14 years with a distribution of 43.43% as Eucalyptus and 56.57% as Pine young stands.

As by the close of 2020 financial year, a total of about 1,334.86ha was the land clear felled pending replanting under the Group. A total of about 6,885 hectares is the land expected to stock trees with the age class between 15 years and above. The Plantation has a nursery is 360 beds translating into a nursery of 1.2 hectares.

Its major round wood customers in Chati are Copperbelt Forestry Company (CFC), Kitwe wood and log and Lufwanyama Enterprise
